Hear from Amanda, one of our Gift in Wills supporters

“I was very sensitive as a child. I was misunderstood. I was bullied, but some teachers did teach me in ways that I understood.

After being diagnosed as Autistic in my 30s, suddenly, many things made sense to me. I know that if I had access to early diagnosis and support, my confidence as a teenager and my outlook on life would have been so much better. With early diagnosis and support, Autistic people or people on the autism spectrum can really thrive.

When I made my Will, it was essential to think about the next generation, particularly around early diagnosis, which I’m very passionate about.

I now have a step-son who is three years old. He’s also Autistic, and I can see the difference between our childhoods. It makes me happy that I can support him in understanding the world and that the world is beginning to understand him.

Whether you’re neurodivergent or not, I think organisations like Aspect that support advocacy, education, and policy change are really important, especially for the next generation of people.

It’s really important to give back.

It took me a few hours to do my Will online. It’s a way of preserving the values that I really care about once I’m gone.”

Amanda will tell you that what makes neurodivergence so incredible is that everyone has something different to offer, which can be incredibly valuable to society in all areas of our lives.

Together, we can create a world that works for everyone.
By including a gift in your Will, just as Amanda has, you can help secure a strong future for Aspect and bring our vision to life.
