Together, we can create a world that works for everyone.

Gifts in Wills are incredibly important to us. Every gift, both big and small, comes together to bring initiatives and programs to life that otherwise wouldn't exist.

So much of our work receives absolutely no government funding. Previous members of our Gifts in Wills Club have been directly responsible for integral Aspect school capital projects such as; building a new school campus in South East Sydney, a new life skills kitchen at one of our Adult Services Centre's in Victoria, and important research projects such as the Self-Compassion Project for Autistic Adults.

Hear from two of our lovely Gifts in Wills supporters

Amanda, Gift in Will supporter

Whether you’re neurodivergent or not, I think organisations like Aspect that support advocacy, education, and policy change are really important, especially for the next generation of people. It’s really important to give back. It took me a few hours to do my Will online. It’s a way of preserving the values that I really care about once I’m gone.

Emily, Gift in Will supporter

I want to leave the world in a better place in whatever way I’m capable of and I think that doing something like leaving a gift in your Will is a chance to have a greater impact on an organisation through giving a more significant contribution. Aspect is so encouraging and supports the strengths and aspirations of ALL people on the autism spectrum.

On behalf of everyone at Aspect, thank you for considering this powerful commitment.

Online Wills

Safewill offers our valued Aspect supporters the opportunity to create a personalised Will online, in your own time and have it reviewed by an Australian solicitor for just $80 (typically $160). This is reviewed by their affiliate law firm (Safewill Legal).

Gathered Here offers Aspect supporters a free legally-binding Will with unlimited updates for life, a service that typically costs hundreds of dollars. This can be done from home and is easy to complete – having an up-to-date will is one of the most important things you can do for your family.

Frequently asked questions

What is a gift in Will or bequest?

A Will is a legally binding document that lets you say what you want to happen to your estate after you are gone. Everyone over the age of 18 should have a valid Will. If you do not have a Will, you could lose the opportunity to give the people you care about the things you value most.

When creating or updating your Will, provide for your family and friends first and then reflect on whether you can also include a gift to Aspect.

What kind of gift can I leave?

There are three main ways to leave a gift in Will to Aspect:

1. Residuary: You can leave a gift of the remainder or percentage of the remainder of your estate, once specific gifts and expenses have been taken care of.

2. Specific: You can leave a specific gift by simply stating the dollar amount in your Will that you wish to leave to Aspect.

3. An Asset: You may wish to leave a gift of a specific asset. For example, property, shares, art, etc.

Suggested wording for your Will

1. If you wish to leave a proportion of your Estate to Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect):

“I direct my Trustee to divide the residue of my Estate, both real and personal, into equal shares and I GIVE shares to Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect) ABN 12 000 637 267 (“Aspect”), to be applied for general purposes (OR a specific purpose to be stated). The receipt of the Chief Executive Officer or other proper officer of Aspect will be a complete discharge to my Trustee for the payment of this sum and my Trustee will not be bound to see to the application of this sum.”

OR

2. If you wish to leave a sum of money to Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect):
