Come along to Sensory Story Time!
Sensory Story Time is a great way to engage your children in a motivating and engaging activity that will support the development of social play. We can encourage the development of social play with our children by modelling appropriate and positive social behaviours, taking turns in play, making social comments and using simple language that may be used in play (e.g. repeated lines of the story).
Kate and Amy show us how we can use sights sounds, textures and a range of props in and around our local environment to explore the story and help engage our seven senses. Our seven senses include our eyes for looking, our ears for listening, our nose for smelling, our mouth for tasting, our hands for touching, and our body for moving and knowing where we are in our space.
Join Kate (Speech Pathologist) and Amy (Occupational Therapist) each month while they read beloved story books and demonstrate how to bring these stories to life using everyday resources to entice our senses.
