A message from our Principal
I am delighted to extend a warm welcome to all our new families and students as we embark on an exciting journey together in 2025 and beyond. With over 55 years of expertise in supporting children, young people, and adults on the autism spectrum, Aspect has grown significantly since its humble beginnings in the 1960s, when we supported just six children. Today, we proudly support over 1,300 students. We are excited to continue this legacy with the Aspect Hills Shire School, the newest addition to our ten autism-specific schools across New South Wales and South Australia.
Our schools are dedicated to supporting students on the autism spectrum. We recognise that every student is unique, with their own strengths and interests. We take immense pride in providing personalised learning experiences that empower each student to reach their full potential. Our approach focuses on tailoring education to meet each child’s specific needs while delivering numeracy and literacy outcomes aligned with the national curriculum.
Given each child’s uniqueness, this support may take various forms—whether it’s through additional assistance, fostering independence, or harnessing their strengths and interests. We are committed to ensuring that every student makes meaningful progress. Our students will be supported by professionally trained educators, assisted by a teacher’s aide. Our classroom sizes are small, with around six students per class, to ensure each student receives the assistance they need to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
The Aspect approach to education is a transitionary model, building on students’ skills and independence to enable a shift to less specialised settings with comprehensive and personalised support. This provides families with the peace of mind that their child will receive the best quality education in a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment.
Aspect is proud to be more than just a school— we’re a close-knit, caring community of families and carers sharing similar experiences. Joining us provides an instant support network, including parents and teachers who understand and support you and your child through any milestone—big or small. We value collaboration, transparency, and open communication. Our doors are always open, and we encourageparents, caregivers, and community members to actively participate in our journey.
Throughout 2025, I invite you to visit our school or attend an information session and meet our dedicated staff. We look forward to welcoming you and working together to create a bright and promising future for all our students.
