Heartiest of congratulations to Aspect Research Centre for Autism Practice (ARCAP) Postdoctoral Researcher, Dr Chris Edwards who has won an Autism Queensland 2023 Recognition Award (Individual Achievement 18+).
His award was presented by Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young AC PSM, Governor of Queensland (pictured) during a ceremony at Government House Brisbane on 29 November. It recognises Chris for his outstanding achievements, and notable contributions and impact in supporting the Autistic community through research.
In addition to his research role at ARCAP, Chris is an Adjunct Research Fellow with the Menzies Health Institute Queensland (Griffith University) as part of the Inclusive Futures beacon. Chris is also an Executive Committee member of the Australasian Society for Autism Research (ASfAR). Chris has been supporting the Autistic community for over nine years through various roles. These roles have been in special education settings, as a disability support worker, positive behaviour support and research-focused positions.
