A few Aspect students and their families were given the opportunity to fly in a jumbo! This wonderful experience was provided by The Rotary Club of Turramurra and Qantas Pathfinders for children with disabilities and underprivileged children.
The children were exposed to a busy terminal, a longish wait in the departure lounge and a short flight from Sydney airport – all experiences that may cause distress for children on the autism spectrum. All participants were supported by the wonderful volunteers of Rotary Turramurra and Qantas Pathfinders which helped it become a positive experience for both children and families. Feedback from some parents indicated that they are now more confident to book a family holiday involving flights because this was such a beneficial adventure.
Some lucky kids even got to go in the cockpit!!
A big thank you to Rotary Club of Turramurra and Qantas Pathfinders for providing Aspect South Coast school students with this amazing experience!
